It was about -14 degrees when I left home this morning.
My kids were very thrilled there was no school today. So they're in for a lonnnnng weekend!
I would think the van would warm up inside after driving for oh, say, ehhhh....15 minutes? No, it finally warmed up when I arrived at work...45 minutes later!
Brr!
I have a weather bug on my desktop here at work, set for my home's temps. I have caution my gang at home NOT TO GO ANYWHERE unless they layer up and cover every single exposed skin. I do not want to take chances!
My daughter wanted to go over her friend's house...so I laid down the rules---LAYER UP! Oh yeah, there's a scarf on your bed PLUS wear socks! (she likes to go "barefoot" in her boots).
So....yeah.
And I am stuck wearing my boots today. I realized I pulled on different white socks. So it would be embarrassing to wear them with my tennis shoes. Anybody would notice the difference in those. *blushing*
My hair has a mind of its own. I did not shower last night as it was too cold (but don't worry, I'm clean as I took a long hot bath yesterday!)...and didn't take one this morning. So I tried "gelling" my hair down. Pffft. It looks like I didn't brush my hair at all! Like, I just got up from bed, dragged clothes on (and yeah, mismatched white socks) and just took off.
And wearing a hoodie to keep myself warm on way to work didn't help my hair either.
Another one of those days where things don't go right. But it's Friday! Monday should be better, right? Right, guys?

Another TGIF.
Phew. What a week.
I think I'm really starting to feel my age.
Either that or it's just the shorter daylight hours we have nowadays.
Been overcast this week, so it made it difficult for me to wake up yesterday & today. Hm.
Last night during my videophone meeting with the Deaf Cafe team, I had gotten a phone call from my dad. So....you can imagine how busy I got there.
Making plans to take ASL lessons with my husband on Saturday morning. This is when Ashley comes up and tells me I'm taking her to her solo & ensemble thing in Charlotte (1 1/2 hour northwest from home).
*blinking fast....* "Excuse me? I thought you were riding with your friend?" (and all my carefully planned out plans for Saturday crashed down around my feet....)
Okay. Fine. Sure. (dramatic sigh...the things I do for my kids)
So, I guess I can sleep in a little bit more tomorrow. But would have to hit the road about 9:30.
Mapquest, ready or not, here I come....

Woo! It's FRIDAY!
Let's have some more WOO's!
Well, I've completed shifting the remaining shelves...and dusted (oh my, talk about a sneeze-fest!) and tidied up a bit.
My shoulders/arms/elbows/wrists/fingers are all sore! Oy.
Now I know I can rest this weekend. I'm very thankful there are no major plans going on.
I'm currently on break right now so wanted to blog real fast. Saw one co-worker who works in Archives all dressed up. Wow. Guess he didn't want to hike home, change, and come back. But no matter, he looks really good for someone who's been with the library ... forever!
I suppose it's time for me to go down and track somebody to see how I can help them prepare for the gala...be it setting up tables, or what.
I'm really excited for them.

Wheee!
That's a pretty lame title for today, ain't it?
Well, happy Friday, y'all.
As I stumbled around this morning...my washer/dryer were looking really sorry. Piles of clothes on top of them. Some dirty laundry on the floor in front of them begging to be washed and cleansed. Yeah, yeah, yeah....
And I've been talking for weeks about how I will have a hot date with my washer/dryer. Well, I really am not hot on doing laundry...and I don't trust my husband with the washer, really. He learned to fill it up and pour soap. And push the button to start. The problem with that, is his mom had a heavy duty washer and you can put a LOT in there. But not mine. And well, with my old washer, it caused some problems and wouldn't work. We can't cram it full to the rim. The washer won't be able to "churn".
Let this woman do it.
We had our first Deaf Cafe rehearsal last night. It went very well. We did miss one actor but we did very well. A lot of silliness, but we were also serious too. I am very excited we'll be starting our 5th season next weekend! WOO!
Got home around 9:30ish last night---and I was pretty tired...and slept hard.
Anyway, with the hurricanes coming to the USA...I expect some rain over the next few days. Yes I know we're UP HERE out of the way...but the clouds and everything will come up our way and we'll get rain. That's ok...I don't mind.
Have a super weekend and take it easy.
