Monday Blues...

Well, not really the blues.

While I have much admiration for Martin Luther King, Jr., and all in support of having a day of celebrating him, um, come on, does the cafe have to be closed today????

I mean, I need...COFFEE! It's just simply too cold to hike over and get one.

Knowing a temper tantrum won't do any good, I just sighed and turned around and walked back to my desk.

I'll just make do with something from the Pepsi vending machine (I miss the Coca-Cola...*sob*).

I had a great time at my niece/nephew's birthday party. While Katelin turned 6, Jordan will become 2 on Friday. Oh. My. Growing up so fast! It was also good to see another sister bring her 3 girls. Her baby is just so sweet and she played with me. Last month she didn't care much for me. I think she had a good nap on the way to the party. LOL.

Yesterday was just pretty much mellow and I saved my husband's life by telling him to calm down and no need to go to ER...I went to drug store to get something for him and immediately it helped him. Ah yes...see, we saved tons of money (and time!) and I went back to reading a book in my warm cozy bed. Ahh.

At 8:30 pm last night, my daughter called me from her friend's house. "Can you get me an Angry Whopper from Burger King?"

"Uh, do you know what time it is?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Um, I'm in my PJ's and reading a book and half-watching tv....NO!"

She giggles and hangs up. *sigh*

Went to bed, and I know I slept pretty soundly. Because next thing I know, my bed's vibrating so hard, I thought I would be shaken out of bed, and the light was flashing---flash flash flash....(how annoying is THAT?).

Oh yeah, the Sonic Boom Clock I had bought from a friend...hey, it works! Not sure about the light flashing but...it works, at least. I now can retire my 20 something year old Radio Shack Appliance/Radio clock/timer thing.

And I want some coffee! I'll just wait until lunch break, and take off somewhere ...find the nearest Starbucks, I think.

Fasten Your Seatbelts, everbody!

What's with the traffic today??? I am driving home and all these cars seem to speed up if they saw me try to attempt...ATTEMPT to make a left turn! Barreling down towards me. If only my van was a sports car, I might go from 0-60 mph in 1 second! No, it takes longer than that.

But I made it home safely. Whew.

This day was really....long.

And sleepy.

And sick.

This morning I showed up to drop Josh off at Opa's house to find the house completely dark! So we went in carefully and I'm praying and holding my breath and telling Josh to go upstairs and wake up Opa. I hear Opa profusely apologizing and blaming his alarm clock.

He's aliiiiiiiiiiiive! So I say bye then take off. I almost turned left to go to McD's to get a drink...but the traffic was heavy. Ehhh...nah.

So I turn right (illegally...oops!) and head on straight towards the town I work in (26 some miles away....)....and had some time left to swing by one of the many McD's and get my drink.

Parked and went inside...the library looks so clean and nice. I was very curious how the event went Friday night.

So I asked one of my co-workers...she said there were no tours but everyone seem to stand around eating and drinking...and visiting with friends and people. And that the food was really, really good.

Darn...I should not have declined.

Eh, too late.

As I was shelving new books, I kind of got confused because of all the shifting of books I did last week, it wasn't in their old place...so I had to kind of work backwards to find the right sections to shelve my books. Burned a lot of calories there too, I think.

Spent the rest of the day doing some spreadsheet work and bringing in records.

I get a call from Opa around 3...Josh threw up at school. Going to pick him up. Take him to his house or drop him off at home? I said, better drop off at my home...that way he can crawl in bed and sleep.

I get home, and yup, Josh is snoozing away on mama's bed. Oh yes, my bed.

The crockpot dinner is nowhere nearly done...I guess I'll just let it cook another couple hours.

I feel like I'm sliding off my seat. Where's that seatbelt?

Caffeine jump-start your day...

After being drenched by Ike over the weekend, and taking a nap that was cut short yesterday by a growing, hungry son....and driving in some type of weather that could blow anyone off the roads...that's pretty tiring!

So, here's to you all who needs a jump-start for today. After all, it's Monday.

*YAWN!*

Happy Monday to y'all. I'm taking a break at work to compose this. I normally would do this from home, but we are w/o internet at the moment. It won't be back up until later this week. Good thing about this, though, is nobody's killed anyone for lack of internet...thank goodness.

It was truly a very nice weekend where I had absolutely NO PLANS at all! It was more of a spontaneous type of weekend. I was invited to one shower, then later invited to another shower. I had to decline the first one, because of finances and gas. When I was invited to another shower, I had to decline that as well. I know it's a season for babies. So hopefully I'll be able to meet them someday.

Um...Saturday was fun when I took Joshua to the lake and it was breezy and the waves were lovely, and water was WARM! So it was fun to swim around with Josh for a couple hours. The breeze was actually...WINDY. Not bad...and doesn't cost me anything but a couple sweet tea for Josh and myself.

Next week I will be celebrating my 3rd anniversary. We're trying to see if we can get away this weekend or not. It all depends on if my husband is needed for testing/interview with GM or not. So I'm playing it by ear.

Well, I know this isn't a very exciting blog today. I can't stop yawning. It's one of those days, I suppose. I should not have watched Batman Begins last night---I had been dreaming all night long being in that movie ...

*sigh*

I do like the movie though. I look forward to seeing the new one. I did hear it's very violent and not appropriate for children. So I need to decide if I will or not. I would go alone, though.

Have a good afternoon.
